The Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale invites families to join them for “Marvelous Melodies – A Virtual Family Concert”. The program will air on Basin PBS, Thursday, February 25th at 7:00pm

Ethan Wills, MOSC Executive Director explains, “In a normal season we would invite nearly 5,000 MISD, ECISD, and home-school students to join us for a special student concert at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. COVID unfortunately made it incredibly difficult to transport those students, let alone determining current state criteria on seating spacing. Nevertheless, MOSC geared our best efforts toward supporting local music education despite these new obstacles. Basin PBS agreed with our values and provided us a means to reach our goals. In developing a plan to record the symphony and air into the classroom, the bonus of ‘A Virtual Concert Experience’ was born!”

The virtual family concert features the talented musicians of the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra and was recorded in the beautiful backdrop of the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. The exciting program includes an excellent variety of music by wonderful well-known composers. It will be engaging for viewers of all ages!

“We are so happy to be able to continue this important work and bring music into your homes. This is going to allow us to reach even more students - and now families - during this great time of need.” said Wills.

To enjoy this FREE program please tune into Basin PBS on Thursday, February 25th at 7:00pm.
